Description
This photograph of Mt. Washington and Tuckerman’s Ravine was taken from the top of Wildcat Mountain Ski Area in Pinkham Notch, NH. The date was April 1, 1978. You remember the year of the blizzard of 78 when the whole East Coast was shut down for a week. That storm and others put a lot of snow in the bowl. I was at Wildcat that day skiing and shooting and looking at the bowl. The next day I had first tracks down the center wall, it was smooth with just the top surface of snow giving way to my skis. It was probably the best run I have ever had in Tuckerman’s Ravine.
