Description
This sunset of Alum Creek was taken in Hayden Valley in Yellowstone National Park in 1997. I was with a small group of photographer friends. We were camping just outside of Canyon Village with a guide who had some yurts set up for winter camping in Yellowstone. During the week we had the whole valley to ourselves. We traveled by snowmobiles and cross country skis. Shooting this creek at sunset was very serine, we were definitely in touch with nature as all that you could hear was the babbling creek and some coyotes of in the distance. The snow was that squeaky cold type that you get with dry cold snow when you walk on it.
