The Old Man fell on May 3, 2003. After many years of freeze-thaw erosion mother nature finally caused The Old Man to fall. Photographing The Old Man of The Mountains in the White Mountain National Forest of New Hampshire required a telephoto lens, tripod and being there early in the morning. This photo was taken in September as the leaves were starting to change color.
