This photo was taken back in 1976. There was a major inversion happening -20 degrees Fahrenheit in the valley at sunrise and above zero on the mountain. All the valley moisture formed rime ice on all the trees. After the sun came up all the rime frost melted in an hour as the temperatures evened out.
